LIFE SAVING
Lifesaving is at the core of everything we do at Redhead Surf Club. Our dedicated volunteers patrol Redhead Beach, ensuring the safety of swimmers and beachgoers while promoting surf awareness and education. Through ongoing training and skill development, our lifesavers are always prepared to respond to emergencies and protect our community. If you’re passionate about the ocean and helping others, there’s a place for you on our team.
Note: You must be proficient to do patrols and compete AND if you are not proficient and are patrolling or competing you are not covered by insurance

Bronze Medallion
The Bronze Medallion is the foundation of surf lifesaving — a symbol of skill, knowledge, and dedication. This nationally recognised qualification equips you with essential surf rescue techniques, first aid, and CPR training, preparing you to patrol the beach and keep our community safe. Whether you’re looking to become an active lifesaver or challenge yourself with new skills, the Bronze Medallion is your first step toward making a real difference at Redhead Beach.

SRC Squad
The Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) is the perfect introduction to surf lifesaving for teens aged 13 years and older. It provides the skills and knowledge needed to become an active patrolling member at Redhead Surf Club. Through practical training in surf awareness, rescue techniques, and basic first aid, SRC holders gain confidence in the water while learning how to keep our beach safe. It’s a great stepping stone toward the Bronze Medallion and an exciting way to get involved in the lifesaving community.

Patrol
At the core of Redhead Surf Club is our dedicated team of volunteer patrol members who give their time to protect beachgoers and uphold the values of surf lifesaving. From September to April, our patrols keep a watchful eye on Redhead Beach, responding to emergencies, providing first aid, and promoting surf safety. With a strong sense of teamwork, responsibility, and community spirit, being part of a patrol team is both rewarding and essential. Whether you're new to lifesaving or a seasoned volunteer, patrol is where you make a real difference.
